Pumpkin Fun!

To start it off we went to Linder Farms Pumpkin Patch. We went with my sister and her boys. It was so much fun, Ashlyn loved riding on the hay ride, picking out pumpkins, and playing in the little maze. We decorated the pumpkins after we got home. She is loving to do arts and crafts lately so painting her pumpkin was a blast for her! We carved a pumpkin too, but Ashlyn thought the insides of the pumpkin were pretty gross (she must take after her mom) so we left the carving up to Brandon.

Our Date Night!

Wow its been a while since Brandon and I got out for a date night. We went to the BSU vs. Hawaii game last weekend. We had tons of fun. Go Broncos!! Since Brandon is an avid BSU fan, so his dad and him have season tickets. Luckily I got to go this time! It was extremely nice to be able to be Amber and not Mommy (though I love being mommy...its nice to have a break). We were a couple again. So thanks babe for taking me out, I love you so much. I am so glad we can be best friends as well as husband and wife! So for all of you with crazy kids and need a break....date nights are a must!

Ashlyn's In Dance!

Ashlyn started dance this past month. She absolutedly loves it. It is so cute to watch her learn and start a new talent! She talks about it all the time. I can't believe she is already old enough to take dance. I didn't really know I would have just as much fun as she is!

The Oregon Coast!

The past week we were able to take our yearly Oregon Coast trip! We had so much fun. We drove so I was a little nervous of the 8 hour or so drive but the girls did awesome. I decided to keep Ashlyn busy to give her a little toy or fun treat each hour, that actually helped a lot. On our way we stopped at the Portland Zoo. Ashlyn absolutely loved it. If you ask her what she saw she will name off all the animals, its really funny! We then were at the coast the rest of the week. We had beautiful weather and had so much fun as a family. Ashlyn played tons on the beach and tried to have Brooklyn play with her too but it didn't really work out since Brooklyn is only 2 1/2 months. It was nice to get away as a little family!

Brooklyn's 2 Months!

What have us Read's been up to. Well, I can't believe Brooklyn is two months old already! She smiles all the time (when she's awake)and is a very good baby she is starting to finally be awake more often which is nice. She started doing her little baby talk like a week or so ago! Ashlyn is loving being a big sister and still loves to hold her and give her "big hugs and big kisses". Ashlyn is starting new things too... she now is officially potty trained and is getting her lovely 2 year old mollers. Which makes her kinda grouchy but nothing a little numbing gel doesn't fix. That is about all for us, just enjoying the kids and the hot weather!

Brooklyn's Blessing Day

Sunday August 3, 2008

Today we blessed Brooklyn. It was such a beautiful day. We have church at 8:00 am so it was a very early day but we actually made it on time. It was so wonderful that our whole family was able to make it. Brooklyn looked so beautiful and peaceful in her white dress its so amazing to me to see this perfect little girl Heavenly Father has sent to our family, I am so lucky to be her mother! I am so grateful for the church in our lives.

Brooklyn Is Here!

Brooklyn is finally here! Sorry it took so long to post something, I know a few of you have been asking to see pictures...as you know, we have been busy at home with baby.

Brooklyn was born at 4:05pm on Thursday, June 19th. She weighed in at 7 pounds even, and 20 1/2 inches long. She came out with a full head of brown hair, just like Ashlyn. Actually, the similarities between the two are quite erie. They are definitely sisters.

I was induced at 10:30am, but they apparently missed with the first Epidural, so my contractions got all messed up. So, we had to do a second Epidural and start the process over again. Once that got all squared away, I pushed one and a half times, and she was here!

Since we've been home, Ashlyn has been a big helper...sometimes too much. We've had a few close calls, but all in all she is a very proud big sister. She loves "Bwoken" and her favorite thing is to hold hands with her. It's so cute. We are so excited to have another sweet baby girl in our family. Enjoy the pictures!
