Christmas 2008

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! We had such a great time with our family and friends. Christmas was such a blast being able to have Ashlyn totally into and understand the whole Santa coming. She really didn't like Santa all that much, every time she would see him she would hide behind me or Brandon and say I dont want to sit on his lap. So Christmas Eve she started to get the idea of it when we celebrated Christmas with the Reads. We had a yummy dinner, sang Christmas carols (my favorite part but I only listen I don't sing), and opened presents. Then getting ready for bed Ashlyn helped put out some milk and cookies for Santa and thought that was really cool. So in the morning she was so excited that Santa came she saw all the presents and said, "Thank you Santa!" Then when she opened her Sleeping Beauty doll she looked at her and said, " Hi Sleeping Beauty I Ashlyn nice to meet you!" It was tons of fun. And Brooklyn of course too little to get what was going on but did really like playing with the wrapping paper and bows. Then went to the Bailey's for the traditional scones and games for the rest of the day. It is so awesome to have all family so close to spend the holidays with. Christmas always has such a special feeling to it and its so great to be reminded of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so thankful for all that He has done for me and for what an example He is to me.

Cheerleading

This past weekend Ashlyn got to participate in her first little cheerleading clinic. She was too young but since my sister is a cheerleader they were so nice and let her do it anyways. So she learned a cheer and a little dance. Then performed it at half time last Saturday! Her first performace...I got nervous...but she did so good. She got out there and while waiting for the music to start she spotted her Daddy and Mommy and gave us a little wave hello. She actually did most of the moves. I was so proud of her! It is so much fun watching her now if you tell her to do her cheerleading she has her own version of the dance she remembers and performs it all the time. She is so much fun to watch!

Happy Thanksgivng!

Brandon & I love this time of year our tree went up a little late this year usually its up right after Halloween but this year it was up the 2nd week in November. But what a great way to kick off the holiday season!
I just want to take a minuet and count some of my blessings in my life! First, my wonderful best friend my husband! He keeps me going and is my better half! For his stable job and all his hard work he puts into his career, he is awesome! And lately I don't know what i would do without him. He has helped me with our little difficult baby. (Don't worry she's getting less cranky!) Second, my two sweet girls. I can't even describe the blessings and happiness they bring to me each and every day! Third, all our extended family I love them all so much and its so great to have them all in town so close by.
Ever since Brandon and I have been married we are grateful to have LouAnne do Thanksgiving on Wednesday so we can all stay and just relax and not have to run in between both sides! So thanks to her Thanksgiving is 2 days and actually relaxing! We had a great time with all our families they are all so fun! Thanks LouAnne and mom for the yummy Thanksgiving dinners! Then of course us crazy Bailey's shopping tradition on Black Friday. We start off with breakfast then off shopping for the rest of the day. It is so much fun and it's always great to get a good deal! Happy Thanksgiving!

Brooklyn's 5 Months!

Brooklyn is 5 months! I can't believe she is that old already. She is such a happy baby and such a blessing in our lives. It's so much fun watching Ashlyn and her gain a sisterly bond that will last their whole lives. I love watching her discover new tricks and watch her learn. Some of her favorite things; she loves to blow bubbles and raspberries, play peek-a-boo with Ashlyn, and play in her little bouncer. I just love being her mom!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween was so much fun this year! Ashlyn was Minnie Mouse and Brooklyn was a pumpkin! We first went to visited the grandparents and all the cousins. We went to my parents and had a Halloween dinner then met up with the Davis's and the Broadbents for some tick or treating. Ashlyn had a blast going around the neighborhood and getting candy! But her favorite was handing out the candy. The door bell would ring and she would get so excited to see all the kids and give them candy! We had lots of fun! I love this time of year with the beautiful weather and Halloween. The perfect start to the holiday season!

Pumpkin Fun!

To start it off we went to Linder Farms Pumpkin Patch. We went with my sister and her boys. It was so much fun, Ashlyn loved riding on the hay ride, picking out pumpkins, and playing in the little maze. We decorated the pumpkins after we got home. She is loving to do arts and crafts lately so painting her pumpkin was a blast for her! We carved a pumpkin too, but Ashlyn thought the insides of the pumpkin were pretty gross (she must take after her mom) so we left the carving up to Brandon.

Our Date Night!

Wow its been a while since Brandon and I got out for a date night. We went to the BSU vs. Hawaii game last weekend. We had tons of fun. Go Broncos!! Since Brandon is an avid BSU fan, so his dad and him have season tickets. Luckily I got to go this time! It was extremely nice to be able to be Amber and not Mommy (though I love being mommy...its nice to have a break). We were a couple again. So thanks babe for taking me out, I love you so much. I am so glad we can be best friends as well as husband and wife! So for all of you with crazy kids and need a break....date nights are a must!

Ashlyn's In Dance!

Ashlyn started dance this past month. She absolutedly loves it. It is so cute to watch her learn and start a new talent! She talks about it all the time. I can't believe she is already old enough to take dance. I didn't really know I would have just as much fun as she is!
